The Sector 9 Puerto Rico is the universal longboard. It is perfect for someone in their early teens who is looking to just get started or for an individual in their late 40’s who is looking to reacquaint themselves with the joys of longboarding that they experienced in their teenage years.

The Puerto Rico’s unique design makes it an extremely forgiving longboard. It is flexible and has a very wide wheelbase, which makes learning simple. The 31.75 inch bamboo deck is sturdy enough to support heavier weight, but is flexible enough to have just the right amount of give to make riding enjoyable.

The Puerto Rico represents the pinnacle of cruising setups. Being at more than 8.8 inches wide, the Puerto Rico gives the rider ample foot space. The deck has been designed with a slight camber. That means that the deck itself has a slight arch, or that it arches up. This makes pushing the board a lot easier. A rider can cruise for longer periods of time while expending minimal effort.

The idea behind this board was to design something that would allow riders to have an extremely exciting and fun ride without putting too much strain on their feet. The flex of the board gives the rider the sensation that they are literally floating or surfing on the air.

The wheels are 69mm and have a durometer rating of 75a. This means that they are going to be soft, and they are going to be extremely smooth. While cruising on the street, the rider is not going to have to worry about small to medium-size cracks or little pieces of debris that are on the road. The wheels will just cruise over these cracks as if they were not even there.amazon button

Sector 9 Puerto RicoWhile this board’s specialty is cruising, it can be used for a wide range of different styles of riding. For example, the deck lends itself to carving and dancing. And while the board itself is not specifically designed for downhill, riders should not be afraid to bomb a medium-size hill or two with this board.

Remember, the board itself is wide. That means that there is ample room to dance around on the board. Also, at 31.75 inches, the board is long. This means that while the rider is bombing down hills at a decent clip, the board is going to remain stable. There will be a little bit of flex in the ride, but overall, it is going to be a stable and enjoyable experience.

This is a strong board. It can take a beating. Many users have commented that in addition to being extremely attractive, the bamboo construction stands up to relentless riding for years. It’s clear grip really allows the artistry and beauty of the board to shine through.

Whether this is your first time stepping on a board, if you are an experienced rider who experiments with different boards, or if you are a veteran rider who has walked away from the sport but is looking for a board to help ease you back into it, the Sector 9 Puerto Rico is a board worth looking at.
