Santa Cruz Impact Drop Down Longboard Review

There is a reason why Santa Cruz has been a premier name in skateboarding and longboarding for more than 4 decades. It is because they understand the importance of providing a high-quality product that their customers will enjoy. A good example of this is the Santa Cruz Impact Drop Down Longboard.

Avid longboarders have commented on the quality of this board. One of the selling points of the Santa Cruz (Drop Down) Impact Cruzer is its Road Rider 78a wheels. They are of high quality, and they are soft enough to allow the rider to have good contact with the ground. As many riders have commented, these wheels have just the right amount of squishiness.

Thanks to its drop-down design, the board is somewhat lower to the ground. The board has a lower center of gravity, and this also leads to its stability. The stability is important not only when cruising through the neighborhood but also when bombing down long hills at higher speeds.

Another benefit of the 1 inch drop on this board is that it makes cruising through the city a breeze. Obviously, as you’re riding your board, you realize that you are going to expend some energy. However, no one wants to make it to their destination out of breath and dripping with sweat because they spent the entire time struggling against their board. With the Santa Cruz (Drop Down) Cruzer, this will never be a problem. It is easy to control and comfortable to push around the city.

Maneuverability is also important when cruising around. This board powerfully responds to turns. It is able to effortlessly weave in and out of obstacles and pedestrians that might be on the road. Its 32 ¼ wheelbase all but guarantees that this board will respond to its rider and turn on a dime.

The board has a deck that is wider than the majority of boards on the market. At 10 inches wide and 40 inches long, the board provides ample space for even larger riders to enjoy. Some riders who weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who have size 13 men’s shoes or larger have commented that they feel comfortable on this board because of the ample space it provides.

This board is designed for speed. However, as any rider knows, speed without control equals eating the pavement. The 180 Road Rider downhill trucks add to the security and stability that a rider feels as they are going downhill. As long as a rider does not try to go beyond what their skill level will allow, there is no reason why they should not feel safe careening down some of the long, steep, winding hills that they have in their neighborhood.

Fun, attractive, versatile and affordable, the Santa Cruz (Drop Down) Cruzer is another board in a long line of boards that shows why Santa Cruz has been leading the way in skateboard design for almost half a century.
