Land Paddle Brands
There are only a handful of land paddle brands but as the trend grows, more and more companies are starting to show interest in land paddling. For the ones that are already on board, they have a pretty good head start in leading the pack. We will briefly describe each land paddle brand, and if you would like to learn more, feel free to visit each brands’ formal review page.
There are a few smaller brands that are trying to break into the market, but they haven’t been able to produce the amount of land paddles that people want to buy, so they are usually out of stock, and will be left out for the time being.
The word “Kahuna” means “Chief” or “Leader” and their designers weave the Hawaiian Spirit throughout the product line of land paddles, longboards, and apparel. Kahuna Creations claims to have invented the patented land paddle™ which are are made of the highest quality of parts and wood. Kahuna Creations have been setting the trend for land paddling since 2006. They started out as a small family business and have slowly branched out to different styles of land paddles, longboards, and accessories. They have the widest selection.
Braap Stik Land Paddle
The Braap Stik land paddle came as a front runner for the land paddle scene. They have one of the best designs for efficiency and performance that can be used for longboarding or cross training. The Fiberglass spring attached to the handle provides stability with shock absorption, carving control, brakes and propulsion. Three different spring ratings offer an adjustable length handle that collapses to an amazing 30 inch size on the Braap Stik Land Paddle.
Sk8pole Land Paddle
The lightest land paddle on the market. Usually sold as a pairing with the company’s line up of surf skate boards. A great choice for somebody who wants a more affordable land paddle. The Sk8pole land paddle is lightweight aluminum and stable, built with a unique pusher tip designed to mimic the efficiency of a race horse’s foot. The patented rubber pusher tip of the Sk8pole grips the ground so it is very simple to use with a minimal learning curve for new land paddlers. The Sk8pole is easily adjustable (collapses) so it is kid-friendly and easy to transport.
Hamboards Land Paddle
The “Hamboards” SUP/Surf Land Paddle is a carbon and fiberglass pole with an EVA grip. It is strong and flexy, yet super-light-weight with a Sk8ball tip. The SUP paddle thumb has a lock adjustment with two sizes. DonkBoard Land Paddle
Donk makes an array of land paddles including aluminum, carbon fiber, and rattan. The aluminum and carbon fiber land paddles are length adjustable while the rattan is flexible. DonkBoard also created a wheel that enables riders to smoothly glide over typical obstacles that other longboards face while land paddling.
