About Globe Longboards

Since the 1980’s, Globe Longboards has been challenging the perception that people have of what a longboard is and what it can do. This Australian-based company has at its heart three brothers; Peter, Stephen and Matt Hill. When it comes to anything associated with skateboarding, the Hill brothers are experts.

Their frustration at not being able to purchase high-quality longboarding and skateboarding equipment led them to founding Globe. Throughout their years as longboarding enthusiasts, they have written books, created movies and have become avid practitioners of longboarding. In 1995, in response to increased interest to their product, Globe began operations in the United States in Los Angeles, California. In 2003, Globe established its European headquarters in the southwest of France.

The impact that Globe has had on the world of longboarding is unprecedented. They produce skateboards and trucks and distribute them not only under the Globe name but also under the name Dwindle. Currently, they are selling skateboards, longboards, clothing and other accessories in more than 100 countries around the world.

Globe offers a wide variety of boards at prices that go from affordable to some what on the expensive side. For example, you can pick up a beautiful Bantam St. black/white marble board with 59 mm 83a wheels for around $80. Or you could purchase a Geminon FLX 37.5 inch long board with wide side to side concave and 180 mm slant magnesium inverted trucks for around $250. Both boards promise to offer a smooth ride and are made of high quality materials that are indicative of everything that Globe Longboards create.

All of the boards that Globe produces are beautifully designed. Just take a look at the Globe Bannerstone Bamboo longboard complete. It is something to behold. On the inside, it has multiple plies of hard Maple. On the outside, it has plies of golden bamboo with batik-style graphics. The Bannerstone has a drop deck design, so it’s a little lower to the ground making it easier to ride. This is the type of board that turns heads as it goes down the street.

Globe Longboards have produced and are currently producing so many longboards that no review of their products would do them justice. The best way for an individual to get a good feel for what they have to offer is to visit their website. At first, the selection available may seem overwhelming. But we would encourage you to take your time and read about all of the boards they have to offer. There is no doubt that you are going to find the perfect board for you and your riding style.
